Corsette 2010: Be a Girl. Run a Smallframe. June 3-4, 2010 Washington, DC (and surrounding area)
Ladies, start your engines! Or, first get them running and then start them. Join us for the first ever Corsette race; all girls, all smallframes. Here’s the deal:
Thursday and Friday, June 3-4 2010
- Starting and ending in Washington, DC (end at annual Scootergate 5 rally)
- Overnight destination location for riders, TBD
- Vintage 2 stroke smallframe scooters only. All participating bikes must be approved by ride coordinator.
- The ride will be timed. Ranking will be based on fastest overall time for both days combined.
- There will definitely be a 1st place award. Depending on number of participants, there may be 2nd and 3rd as well.
- Checkpoints will probably involve doing…fun and interesting things…
- This is a girls race. If you are a guy but have a smallframe and want to race, you may do so but you MUST wear a dress over your riding gear for the entire length of the ride. (and no, a kilt is not a dress, neither is a skirt, it must be an actual women’s DRESS!)
- Registration will be through this website. The cost will help cover lodging, support vehicles, and patches and/or T-shirts.
- Additional rules and such will be added as plans develop.
The name “Corsette” is taken from the now annual vintage scooter race, Corsa. The Corsette will differ from the Corsa in that its distance will be about half the milage, emphasis on girl riders, and smallframes only.
Plans are in the making, and updates will be posted frequently on the website, so please check back occasionally for any new developments. This is being posted far in advance so as to give everyone enough time to get bikes fixed/built, or to gear up on your riding skills/endurance. C’mon girls, let’s get riding! Read 0 Comments... >> |
